What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Cookies

Some forms on this site require the use of Google's reCAPTCHA service before they can be submitted. If you consent to this service, a cookie is created to save your consent. This cookie is automatically deleted after thirty days.

Magic links generate a temporary cookie named "itsec-ml-lockout-bypass", which allows users to log in via a link sent by email. This cookie contains session data including the user's ID and IP address. It expires after 30 minutes.

The "trusted devices" feature uses a cookie named "itsec-fingerprint-shp" to verify that logins come from trusted devices.

A cookie named "itsec_interstitial_browser" is created to track the user's login process and improve security.

When a user visits the login page, a temporary cookie is generated to ensure compatibility with certain alternative authentication methods. This cookie contains no personal data and expires after one hour.

Some users can enable the "Remember this device" option to bypass two-factor authentication when using the same device. This generates a cookie named "itsec_remember_2fa", which contains no personal data and expires after 30 days.

Security Logs

The IP addresses of visitors, the IDs of logged-in users, and the usernames used in login attempts are conditionally logged to detect suspicious activity and protect the site against potential attacks.

These logs include login attempts, logout requests, suspicious requests, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 60 days.

Device Protection

Session data, such as IP addresses and user agents, is stored to verify the authenticity of logins from trusted devices.

Who we share your data with

For security reasons, the use of Google's reCAPTCHA service is necessary. This service is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

A QR code image is generated when users set up two-factor authentication. This image is produced via an API hosted by SolidWP and uses only the username without storing any data.

When logging in, some users may have their IP address transmitted to third-party services (IP Info, Geobytes, GeoPlugin, and IP API) for an approximate estimation of their location and to prevent unauthorized access.

A security check may require a request to solidwp.com to verify the site's TLS/SSL support. No personal data is sent in this context.

The site is scanned by SolidWP Site Scanner to detect potential vulnerabilities. No personal data is sent, but public information (e.g., comments) may be analyzed.

To ensure file integrity, Solid Security interacts with wordpress.org, solidwp.com, ithemes.com, and amazonaws.com. These requests do not include any personal data.

How long we retain your data

Security logs are retained for 60 days.

Where your data is sent

This site is part of a network that protects against distributed brute force attacks. In this context, the IP address of visitors attempting to log in is shared with a service provided by solidwp.com.

Complianz | The Privacy Suite for WordPress

Burst Statistics

This website uses Burst Statistics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to analyze visitor behavior. For this feature, we (this website) collect anonymous data, which is stored locally and not shared with other parties. For more information, please read the Burst Privacy Statement.

This site utilizes caching to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary.
